Friday Night: Dirt, Short Laps, & Cinema
- 6:00 PM: Check-in opens (Restrooms are in an actual building—so pro!).
- 7:00 PM: The 5K-ish Grass & Dirt Run.
- 7:45 PM : Final Check-in time for the night (if you’re just racing ‘cross)
- 8:00 PM: The Cyclocross double-header (A 4-lap race followed by a 3-lap race in the opposite direction. If things are going well, we’ll give a run-a-lap-ride-a-lap relay a try!).
- Post-Race: A starlit screening of the short film “Fifth is First” by Holly Fasching.
Day One Detailzzzzzz
- If you have not pre-registered, you can sign up day-of with cash or credit card. Just sign a waiver!
- Restrooms are in a building! So pro!
- Just like Thursday nights in Emmaus, we will do a 4-lap race followed by a 3-lap race. We intentionally set these times so you can get out here after work, but that also means you will need lights for race 2!
- Starting each race gets you 5 FSX points. If you do the run, two cross races, and the relay, that’s 20 points in one night!
- Double-Cross season standings will be updated with 5 bonus points for the night if you run and ride.
Saturday: Ridge Adventure, The Backyard Elimination Run, and Music
We’re offering a delightful smorgasbord of self-inflicted suffering: choose your unsupported gravel odyssey (because who needs friends on a bike?), punish your legs with a casual 10k or 5k, and then, just when you think you’re done, brace yourself for the legendary Sundown Rundown. But fear not, weary warrior, for redemption comes in the form of gooey s’mores and a night spent contemplating the vastness of the cosmos (and perhaps the wisdom of your weekend choices) under a blanket of stars.
- 7:00 AM: Informal sign-in, coffee, and light breakfast bites.
- 8:00 AM: Gravel rolls out! Self-supported road adventures along the Blue Mountain Ridge. (A gravel bike with 35c+ tires is ideal, but we’ve ridden these roads on 23c rim-brake bikes. Bring your sense of adventure).
- 8:30 AM: 10k run
- 9:00 AM: 5k run
- 10:30-ish: Podiums for 10k and 5k
- 11:00 AM: Skillzzz & Drillzzz Cross Clinic with Rachel Rubino and Kelly Roberson
- 2:00 PM: PFG Pizza Truck
- 3:00 PM: The Sundown Rundown. Our legendary backyard elimination-style run race. Run farther than you thought you could.
- 6:00 PM: Live music from Starting Tomorrow and s’mores.
- 8:00 PM: Live music ends! Campin’ under the stars!
Day Two Details
Gravel Ridin’ – a lightly competitive loop around our old training roads
So, you fancy yourself a gravel grinder, eh? Well, dust off that trusty steed and prepare for a weekend of questionable decisions! The backroads around the foothills of Hawk Mountain are our old training grounds. It’s beautiful, and we know you’ll love it. We brought in the knowledge of long-time FSX racer Andrew Amey for additional mileage in northern territories, and we have Aaron Snyder driving the lead moto for the ride. We’re offering 100-mile and 50-mile loops on Saturday, featuring a lightly competitive element where #fifthisfirst.
Wait, #fifthisfirst on a gravel ride?
We’re turning back the clocks to some OG days of training and adding a Twist of Fifth to it. At the base of the climbs, the moto will speed ahead. At the top of the climb, the driver will be your scorekeeper, tallying the top 35 people up the climb. Once we get to 35, he will casually get back on the moto and continue the route with everyone.
What makes it #fifthisfirst? Well, because 5th place overall for the day wins! This is NOT a hammerfest by design. We love the element of surprise, and we think being 5th is how it should be done.
To be scored for 5th place, you need to do the full ride. If we get enough interest in the future for a separate scoring of the 50-mile ride, we will do that, too!
Scoring is golf score to make it easy
| PLACE | POINTS |
|---|---|
| 1st | 1 |
| 2nd | 2 |
| 3rd | 3 |
| 4th | 4 |

8am Gravel Ride Depart!
Gravel Logistics Details
- 7 am sign-in.
- If you have not pre-registered, you can sign up day-of with cash or credit card. Just sign a waiver!
- Restrooms are in a building! So pro!
- 8 am we roll!
- The lead motorcycle will follow the 100-mile route. There are a few points the motor cannot ride, but they will meet you back at the next best place on the route.
- These are unsupported rides. We have routed all of them by farm stands or convenience stores at regular intervals, so you should be able to get yourself refueled along the way.
- Bike choice: a gravel bike with at least 35c tires is ideal. BUT, we trained on ALL these roads with 23c tires on road bikes with rim brakes, so we think you can ride these with just about anything.
- If you have an emergency, please dial 911. If you do not have an emergency but need assistance, please dial 484-809-9128 (you can text that number, too).
- In 2025, most riders were on course for 5 hours. We expect to take a little longer in 2026 to complete a proper 100-mile ride.
8:30am – 10k Run
Using the same course as the cyclocross race, you’ll run 4 laps of the course. This is a cross-country-style run with a creek crossing and mostly field sections. There are no paved portions of this run.

10:30-ish are the podiums for the 10k and 5k Runs
We will do awards for OVERALL and for Women-specific. That means women can be part of the overall podium. That also means women can be on two podiums in one day.
We will not do age-group awards and podiums, but we will score separately. We’re here for you, though, so if you would like a podium photo, let us know and you can jump up on the boxes for a few snaps!

To Follow: Music, S’mores, and Camping
At 6pm the cover band Starting Tomorrow takes to the bandshell to rock some tunes for everyone. Big thanks to Bright Path Brewing for their support to help wash down the grill food for the day! Everyone who hangs will get 5 points for S’mores and 5 points for camping!
Food Trucks On Site
- PFG Pizza Truck
- Contact us to be a food truck vendor (or be part of the inclusive pricing for the athletes)
Day Three – the Hangover Helper
You wake up to chirping birds and maybe a bright sun that is a little too bright. Don those dark shades and sunblock for a shakeout ride or run before you head home. Runners will do a casual 10k-ish group run on the roads around the venue. Riders will go around Leaser Lake, with an option to go longer for those who are feeling good. Routes are part of the embedded map above.
8am – Rides and Runs depart.
Please note that amenities will be very limited Sunday afternoon post-ride. We’ll have bathrooms, water, and various snacks available. Please plan your run or ride so your camp area is packed up and cleaned up (leave no trace!) by 1pm.

- Gravel ride Badge – 5 points (per ride)
- 5k Badge – 5 points
- 10k Badge – 5 points
- Cross race badge – 5 points (per race)
- Sundown badge – Mileage points
- S’mores badge – 5 points (per night)
- Campout badge – 5 points (per night)
There are hidden merit badges, too! Each worth 5 points so if you hang out you might get rewarded!
What are FSX Points? They count toward our overarching weekly Fall Series standings! Whether you’re chasing the Open crown or just here for the s’mores, every bit of camp hustle earns you a head start for September.
